Stephen McGuigan is an experienced and qualified potter who studied at the Pottery Skills School in Derry in 1997.

Since then he has been producing a wide range of unique bespoke ceramics for both the public and private sector in his native hometown of Draperstown County Derry. His work in ceramics is mainly on the wheel throwing a variety of shape and form producing decorative and functional wares for the home and also commissioned work for people and presentation gifts for organisations.

He also enjoys hand-building and sculpting with clay and uses this process as an introduction to ceramics for adults and children at both day and night classes. He makes a wide variety of pieces in this discipline from coil- built pots and small sculptural pieces to wall decor carved in relief.

Stephen has recently experimented with pit kilns and has produced some wonderful unique pieces from this process. Another passion of Stephens is wood carving. He especially enjoys working with Bog Oak to create bespoke/original works of art.
